Get registered for the Kayak Fishing Tournament at Elephant Butte Lake from May 21-23, 2021. This fishing tournament is open to anyone fishing from a manually operated boat such as a kayak, canoe, paddleboard, or rowboat. No gas-powered boats for this event.
The tournament starts with a mandatory captain’s meeting on Friday, May 21st at 7:00 PM. The meeting will be drive-through style and you will receive a uniform measuring device if you need one.
Fishing will start on Saturday morning, May 22nd between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM. The contest will end at exactly 3:30 PM. You’ll use the iAngler app to upload pictures of the fish you catch during this catch-photo-release tournament. Please make every effort to release your fish alive after catching and photographing them.
For this tournament, you’ll upload pictures of the Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, and White Bass you catch. While fishing in Elephant Butte Lake, you may also reel in some Walleye, Striped Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, White Drum, Catfish, Carp, or the very rare Northern Pike or Trout.
Prizes will be announced on Sunday, May 23rd at 11 AM at the Sierra Del Rio Golf Course.
Entry forms will be accepted until 6:59 PM on May 21st. Submit your complete entry form and pay the registration fee by that time. You can find the registration information and contest rules at Zia Kayak Outfitters.
A valid New Mexico Fishing License is required in addition to adhering to all New Mexico Game and Fish rules and regulations.
